| At the beginning of the company history, it were predominantly worm gear units for general mechanical and plant engineering and construction that were manufactured. During the last few years, complete solutions for applications in drive technology were added. One main emphasis are the high-quality drive units for elevator technology, which apart form gear units, contain further mechanical components and electrical sub-assemblies. | ||
| Looking back on more than 100 years: | ||
| The Maschinenfabrik Pekrun in Coswig near Dresden is founded by Professor Hermann Arthur Pekrun. Rapid development from an handicraft business to an industrial company. |
|
| The number of persons employed increases to 600; the main product to be manufactured are globoid worm gear units, a special development by the founder of the company. | |
| During the boom period of the Pekrun company, the business activity is expanded and the number of employees increases to 1200 persons. Different gear unit types are manufactured. | |
| The company is also involved in the war production (equipment of tanks and submarines with worm gear and hydraulic gear units). | |
| Collapse of the company. In October 1948, the owner at that time, Mr. Pekrun, is expropriated. | Workshop around 1975 |
| Transformation of Maschinenfabrik Pekrun into the state-owned VEB Getriebefabrik. | |
| Expansion to the leading manufacturer of worm gear units in the Eastern European economic area. Apart from the COMECON, exports also go France, the Netherlands and the FRG. The VEB Getriebefabrik Coswig is the only worm gear unit manufacturer in the GDR. | |
| After the fall of the Berlin Wall, the Getriebefabrik Coswig is converted into a GmbH (private limited liability company). | |

| Introduction of new product ranges for worm gear units, helical worm gear units and gear motor units. | |
| Construction of a new assembly workshop and a new administration building. | |
| Beginning of the production of compact gear units in modular design and of new drive systems for elevator technology. | |
| The new company name: GFC AntriebsSysteme GmbH | |
